Business Wire is reporting that major exercise equipment manufacturers such as Life Fitness, Precor, Star Trac and Technogym are going to incorporate Nike+ into their gym equipment this summer.

Gym members will easily be able to track workouts on cardio equipment like treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes and stair climbers using Nike+ technology.

    That will be pretty cool. I would think they might be selling iPod nanos at these fitness clubs or even having docking stations to upload data. Maybe nano rentals or units to borrow? There would certainly have to be a bring your own earbuds policy. :)

    It would be great if they could expand it to the weight equipment also. Number of reps, weight lifted etc.
